The journey begins in Guwahati, where you’ll meet your trip leader and fellow travellers before setting off for Dimapur.

  • Meet your trip leader and fellow travellers at Guwahati Railway Station.
  • Settle in for a scenic, comfortable journey to Dimapur, Nagaland’s largest city. The group is expected to reach by 10 AM.
  • In the evening, check in at the partnered homestay, get to know the group over games and conversations, and enjoy a wholesome dinner.
DAY 027 December 2026Kohima discoveries & Hornbill FestivalDimapur → Kohima → Zakhama

After breakfast, make your way towards Kisama Heritage Village, with two meaningful stops along the way.

  • Visit the Kohima War Cemetery, a memorial to the soldiers who fought the Japanese forces during the Second World War.
  • Stop at Kohima Cathedral Church, whose architecture incorporates elements inspired by traditional Naga houses.
  • Continue to Kisama Heritage Village to experience the living traditions of Nagaland through tribal dances, music and food.
  • After the festival, head to Zakhama for dinner and your night’s stay.
DAY 038 December 2026A deeper look into Hornbill FestivalZakhama → Kisama → Zakhama

Wake up to breakfast at the homestay, with a valley view, before returning to Kisama for another day at the festival.

  • Spend the day at Kisama Heritage Village, taking in more of the region’s cultural expressions.
  • Make time to chat with local people and experience the warmth and hospitality of the Naga community.
  • Return to Zakhama for dinner and an overnight stay.

The rolling green hills of Dzukou ValleyDAY 04 · NAGALAND

Trade the festival grounds for open hills, grasslands and the quiet beauty of Dzukou Valley.

  • After breakfast, travel towards Dzukou Valley through scenic landscapes.
  • Known for rolling green hills, blooming flowers and spectacular views, the valley rewards those who take the trail.
  • Trek approximately 8 km into the valley. The hike takes around 4 hours; carry snacks and water for the route.
  • Spend time unwinding in the meadows before returning to the tents.
  • Settle in for dinner and a night under the starry sky.
DAY 0510 December 2026The final day of Hornbill FestivalZakhama → Kisama → Zakhama

Return to Kisama for the last day of the festival and make the most of your time there.

  • Have breakfast at the homestay before trekking down for the return journey to Kisama Heritage Village.
  • Enjoy the final day of Hornbill Festival, with its mix of dance, music, food, adventure sports, handicrafts and traditional fashion.
  • Return to the homestay for dinner, conversations, games and group activities.
DAY 0611 December 2026Goodbyes & onward journeysNagaland → Guwahati

Enjoy a freshly cooked breakfast, exchange goodbyes with the group and begin the journey back.

  • After breakfast, say your goodbyes to the group.
  • Travel back towards Guwahati. The drop-off is planned by 6 PM.
  • From Guwahati, you are free to head home or continue your onward journey.
